1Call up all your old Buddies.
So you lined up help for the big day...But call them few days before the big install day to remind them:) Make sure they know there will be lots of drinks, food, and fun! Maybe even a live band! Or at least your best spotify playlist playing!
2Make sure your covered.
Make sure you went though our pre installation checklist. This is like the old saying..."Measure twice and cut once" You and your friends don't want to hear...UH OH...I think we forget something. You may lose a friend or two:(
3Let's get Rolling!
All the hard work is about to pay off:) This is the fun part! Your lawn is about to look amazing. Have fun and enjoy your new lawn.....Don't forget to take lots of photos!
Turf Installation! YEAH!
Install your lawn immediately upon delivery. Begin watering the turf within 30 minutes of installation. Protect unlaid turf by placing stacks in shade and sprinkling if dry. Begin installing turf along the longest straight line, such as a driveway or sidewalk. Butt and push edges and ends against each other tightly, without stretching.
Avoid gaps or overlaps. Stagger the joints in each row in a brick-like fashion, using a large, sharp knife to trim corners, etc. Avoid leaving very small strips at outer edges as they will not retain moisture. On slopes, place the turf pieces horizontally across the slope. Avoid repeated walking or kneeling on the turf while it is being installed or just after watering to prevent indentations or air pockets.
WHEW! How does it look? One more step to go!
Watering your New Sod.
This is the most important step. Give your new lawn at least 1 inch of water within ½ hour of installation. Water twice daily, 20 to 30 minutes each time morning and evening, allowing turf at least 1 inch of water until it is firmly rooted (about 2 to 3 weeks). After turf is firmly rooted, less frequent and deeper watering should begin. Weather conditions will dictate the amount and frequency of watering. Be certain that your new lawn has enough moisture to survive hot, dry, or windy periods. Water areas near buildings more often where reflected heat dries the turf.

We build out home and we’re planning on seeding. Funny, a few houses in our neighborhood did sod and some did seed. Needles to say after seeing the results we went with AA Turd and had our Sod installed! haha – Didn’t feel like waiting for years for our long to look great.
